Is that something they do? will they survive? Or well you know..I don't want to say it I'm thinking possitive some feed back please thank you in advance Jill

There is actually a very good chance that your fish will survive, but first you need to take the proper steps.
A fish's tail is just like any other body part, and it can become infected very very quickly when it gets injured, hence the reason your goldfish is starting to turn upside down when she swims.
What you need to do, is go to Walmart or your nearest pet store, and pick up a bottle of medicine for fish that is called Melafix. Be very VERY careful with this stuff, it WILL kill your fish if you use too much of it! However, it is extremely good at treating things like chewed up tails.
Use the cap of the bottle to measure, but don't use more than half of the cap per gallon of water (i.e. if the bowls you put your fish into are a gallon or less, you'll only need berly the bottom of the cap full.)
You will be able to smell how strong this medicine is the second you open the bottle, and you will continue to smell it after you put it in the water.
Use this medicine ONCE a day for about a week, changing about half of the water every day.
Your fish's tails probably wont grow back, but they will heal up, and they should do just fine.
The fins should grow back if they're given time and peace to do so. There's something called memoflex I believe which heals sick fishies.you should look for that. I would check your main tank and watch for the fin nipper then remove it.that's what I did
its really hard to say if they will survive. from having fish and being in the same situation that you are i know what you are going through. the only thing you can really do is keep a watch on them feed them reguarly and make sure their water is clean. and yes some fish they tail will grow back on some they wont it just depends on how far down they got their tail bit off at.
Maybe their butt was bitten off too. What if they are going insane because they can't poop!
What they have is probably the Tail Rot disease. you need to add some 10% fresh water other than the old tank water and also buy some of the Green or blue liquid (forgot the name). You'll get that at any fish store, it is exclusively for tail and fin rot. good luck..
It sounds like your Goldfish has what's called "Dropsy"/Swim bladder. Goldfish are one of the most dirtiest (make x amount of waste) fishies and can very quickly make their own water high in deadly ammonia. Once levels of ammonia reach a certain height, the Goldfish, now gasping for air, rushes to the water's surface to "breathe". Causing their "stomach" (actually the bladder) to bloat and in turn start flipping upside down.
Dropsy is a difficult sickness to cure, but its doable. Furan 2 from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals works really well on Dropsy. Just becareful when using it, unless you like your fingers green. If you can keep the Goldfish in the large bowl (be sure to airrate the bowl, though) by itself, you can also add sea salt to its water. Sea salt/Rock salt work as a natural agent and aid in repairing illness but are also good to help keep them healthy altogether. (Don't add to the main tank as other fish may not be able to handle the salt)
About the tails on both fish; when you look at their tails, do they appear to have a whitish edge around the loss of fin? Because of what's happening with your Goldfish, I'm suspecting they might actually have Fin and Tail rot. The Melafix (Also by Aq. Pharm) that's been suggested does work wonders on Fin and Tail rot. (--Ps. Fin and Tail rot are VERY common with Goldfish. ) You need do a 25% water change prior to any medicating. And you may as well put them back in the main tank if it is F/T rot; any other fish will likely have already gotten the bacteria.
I do have a question though; is that an actual Angelfish with your Goldfish? If so, you may want to consider seperating them. Angelfish are much more aggressive (They're Cichlids) then Goldfish and will start nipping at the GF. Thus, it can be the start to the Fin and Tail rot.
No matter what though, do at least a 25% water change on your main tank. That'll remove the excess ammonia levels that create/progress sickness.
Hope that helps!
